Sometimes, all it takes is one photo to get a sense of someone. That’s how we felt upon our first glimpse of Winter Session — a snapshot of three smiling designers on the Post 27 blog back in December 2010. The product was simple –namely waxed cotton bags in a neutral palette and utilitarian aprons made from upcycled materials.
Since then, the company has grown quite a bit; still making everything by hand on their trusty sewing machines, the now-married duo Tanya Fleisher and Roy Katz can barely keep up with the orders. Lucky for us, they eked out enough time to come to this month’s Dose: In addition to their signature aprons, bags of various sizes, and pocket squares made from upcycled shirting material, they’ve extended into the kid’s market with a few goodies. Same style, just much smaller in scale.
