Bottle Shock: The boys behind Bittercube slow-crafted Midwest bitters are modern-day alchemists, transforming cherry bark, hibiscus, allspice, citrus peel and molasses into tinctures so flavorful they need to be applied with an eyedropper.

Why we’re obsessed: Nicholas and Ira eschew concentrates and oils in favor of crushed whole fruits and spices, which lend unrivaled potency and clarity of flavor.  Each batch can take up to four to six weeks to produce.

Products: Flavor-packed, macerated spirits made from bark, roots and fruit used to enhance everyday cocktails. The duo tweaked recipes for a year before nailing down flavors: cherry bark vanilla, citrusy Jamaican No. 2, versatile Bolivar, spicy Jamaican No. 1, and Orange.
